This morning PeopleCert announced at the second Partner MeetUp that effective January 1, 2023, all Business and IT certifications issued at all levels will expire in three years. This includes the popular ITIL® 4 Foundation and PRINCE2® Foundation. To renew your certification, you will need to retake the exam, attend additional courses during the validity period, or collect and register Professional Development Points. The renewal process will be handled entirely through the PeopleCert portal. It is unclear what will happen to existing certifications; when asked about this, PeopleCert responded that a decision has yet to be made, and that different approaches will likely be taken for certifications earned at different times.
